Bostonia Collectives Show @ LAP Gallery

Last Friday the LAP Gallery in Waltham, MA hosted the Bostonia Collectives show. Curated by Fish McGill, the exhibition featured art from most of the artist collectives in the surrounding Boston area. There was barely a white space in the gallery, with nearly 190 pieces hung on the walls and a very impressive installation by The Individuals. Brian Butler’s ice cream cone postcards lined one wall, for anyone to participate in drawing their own ice cream person. The show coincided with Halloween weekend, so guests were encouraged to dress in full costume and some of them were almost as creatively impressive as the artwork. Vampires, gypsies, Charlie Brown, an ice cream sundae, a masked luchador and even The Flight of The Conchords’ Bret and Jemaine were in attendance, making for an entertaining evening.
