A couple weeks ago I was asked to be in The Hives annual skateboard deck art show. I graciously accepted the invitation, but then realized I didn't have a skateboard deck I was interested in painting over, so I brainstormed the idea to make my own rendition of a sixties production skateboard using only the technology they had at the time. The following is a collaboration between myself and 3 master craftsmen. Roger Robidoux a master wood worker for cutting and shaping the deck, Luke Randall a decorative painter to stain and paint the decks and Tom West to silk screen the graphics I came up with. This is a journal of our experiences making a piece of awesomeness.

Tribute to X-Large
When I was young I always wanted the classic X-large shirt, but I never ended up getting one. Bummer. Respect due to these dudes.
